Dog and Cat Licenses -
May be
obtained at the Borough Hall, Mon. – Fri. from 8:30 A.M. - 5:00
P.M.; licenses run from January 1 to December 31. All pets over the
age of six months must obtain a license which requires a current
rabies inoculation, good for the entire calendar year, certificate
and proof of being spayed/neutered required to avoid additional
State fee. The Borough has a "Scoop the Poop" Ordinance and a "Leash
Law" for dogs.
Marriage
License
- If the bride is a resident of New Jersey, the
marriage license must be obtained from the Registrar of Vital
Statistics of the municipality where she lives. If she is a
nonresident and the groom is a resident of New Jersey, get the
license from the Registrar in his municipality. A license issued
under either of the preceding circumstances is good for use anywhere
in New Jersey. If both bride and groom are nonresidents of this
State, the license must be secured from the Registrar of the place
where the marriage is to be performed and may be used only in that
place. A license may never be used outside of New Jersey and a
license issued in another state may never be used in New Jersey.
Unless ordered to do so by the proper judge, the Registrar will not
issue the license until at least 72 hours after application is
made. If the marriage is scheduled for Saturday or Sunday,
application should be made no later than the preceding Tuesday. If
the application is made on Wednesday or Thursday, the 72 hours will
end on Saturday or Sunday, but the Registrar will probably not be
available on those days, or any public holiday.
It is
not necessary for both the bride and groom to be present when the
application for the license is made. One is sufficient, but the
application must be completed by both before the license will be
issued. Whether one or both apply, the same witness (at least 18
years old) must be present to swear to the accuracy of the
statements made. Once the license is issued, it may be used at once
or anytime within 30 days of the date of issuance.
Rabies Clinic -
There is an
annual rabies clinic (usually in January) held in the Ambulance
Corps Building. Please call the Borough Hall for more information
or look in the local newspaper for the date and time.
Temporary Food License
- If your
facility is scheduling a social event that involves the preparation
and serving of food, a Temporary Food Handling License is
necessary. This license is obtained by filling out an application
at the Borough Hall. You will need to know the date of the event,
name and address of responsible person, location of event, phone
number of responsible person and a listing of food/beverage being
served. There is no fee.
Well Baby Clinic - There is an interlocal
agreement with the Borough of Waldwick that offers a Well Baby
Clinic. Call the Borough Hall for details.
